Patience and Kindness

Patience and Kindness

As parents we sometimes forget that we need to have patience with children.  Each individual has his or her own unique personality.  Nobody is perfect.  I often remind myself to treat others the way I would want to be treated.  The same goes for children.  I try to always be kind and loving towards my students because I would want somebody to treat my children the same way.  Things always seem to find its way back to you.  Some call it karma.  Others say what goes around comes back around to you.  It is like the boomerang effect.  As the holiday season creeps closer and closer, we should all be mindful of the less fortunate.  It is not all about receiving.  It is all about giving.  Ask yourself, what can I do for someone else this year.  You don't have to be a philanthropist to give.  You will find that there is someone who only wants your time.

Building Relationships With Kids - Learning Disabilities

Building Relationships With Kids - Learning Disabilities
Relationships take hard work to build. Asking a kid about their day usually results in one or three words, such as fine or I don’t know. Of course they know how their day went. They choose not to discuss it with you.

Follow Your Rules

It is back to school for kids, as well as some parents.  As adults, we sometimes think we know so much more than the kids...and we do.  One important thing to remember is that we never get to old or wise to learn new things.

Truth is, we are all teachers.  Someone is learning from us, whether we realize it or not.  Practice what you preach.  Be polite, listen to others, and help somebody when in need.  Focus on  developing your own character.  Be the best that you can be.  You won't have to say a word.  Your actions will speak for you.

I just began to read a new book written by Brendon Burchard called "The Charge".  After reading the introduction and first chapter, I began to think about the things that motivate me.  These pages of his book allowed me to think of things in terms of needs and wants.  We need food, water, and shelter to survive.  Beyond that, it is a want.  All of the things in the world cannot make us truly happy.  Happiness comes from within.

Encourage Yourself

Two words.  Stress Kills.  Learn to enjoy life and stop worrying about things that you can't change.  Live one day at a time and let tomorrow worry about itself.  When tomorrow comes, things will be different.  Even if it's a days closer to change.  Encourage yourself!

Stress Free

Stress means so many things to so many people.  My dream is to one day be stress free.  Not only in my life, but actually feel peace around me.  How can one find peace?  I love to write and spend time with my family.  I enjoy seeing and making others happy.  I also find peace when I work at home in my gift and thrift of course.  The key to finding peace in your life is learning or knowing yourself.  You must understand that no one person on this earth can make you happy.  It comes from within.  You have to be whole in order to live a peaceful life.  Surround yourself with beauty and love.

Time Management

Have you ever lost track of time?  I sure you wondered where the time went.  We often loose track of time when we attempt to do too many things at once.  Multitasking is good, but it can be difficult to get the most important things done when there is no prioritizing.  Manage time wisely.
